Most of us have a tough time tossing out old crap. The Internet is an incredible marketplace where some people are more than ready to bid on forgotten items you might have in totes or drawers in your garage.

I'm not a hoarder. I regularly go through my storage areas and toss out stuff that I don't think serves a purpose anymore. Occasionally, I have seen people online on sites such as eBay pay ridiculous amounts of money for things I sent to the landfill years ago.

Trading cards, VHS tapes, cassettes, and other items people who grew up in the seventies and eighties collected are also presently fetching money online.

Nostalgia often comes with a hefty price tag. I made a lot of mistakes as a kid by not taking care of the toys I grew up with. I remember owning things like Star Wars figures, Garbage Pail Kids cards, Intellivision and Atari consoles and games, sports memorabilia, and other stuff my parents bought for me. Had I not gotten rid of some of those belongings, I'd have a hell of a lot more cash in my savings account than I presently do.

One of the things that many Idahoans might still have somewhere very close to them that people are paying a lot of cash for is old iPods. These Apple products are fetching tens of thousands of dollars, according to The Sun. I still own a few early iPods that I still plug into my speaker box and use from time to time. Even though many of these items are considered dead technology, there are people that collect this stuff and would be more than happy to throw some cash your way for it.
