SHOSHONE, Idaho (KLIX) – A 21-year-old man is dead after a one-vehicle crash that happened this morning near Shoshone.

Idaho State Police responded to the crash early this morning at 385 E. Highway 26 east of Shoshone.

According to ISP, Weston Kirkpatrick, 21, of Hamer was driving westbound on US Highway 26 near milepost 170 when he went off the road on the left side. He over-corrected and his vehicle went back across the highway, off the road on the right side, and through a residential fence at 385 E. Hwy 26.

The vehicle then rolled, coming to rest in the front yard of the residence.

Kirkpatrick was ejected and died at the scene of the crash. He was not wearing his seat belt, according to ISP. Notification has been made to next of kin.
