I don't know if this is 'the most Twin Falls event of the year' but the CSI Boxing Smoker is one of the events I look forward to most each year!

The College of Southern Idaho Rodeo Team’s 39th annual Cowboy and Cowgirl Boxing Smoker is scheduled for Saturday night, Jan. 30 at CSI’s Eldon Evans Expo Center.

CSI Rodeo Team members will be matched with local fighters and athletes from several other programs. Anyone who would like to box in the Smoker is invited to contact CSI Rodeo Coach Steve Birnie at 732-6620 or Kelly Wardell at 732-6618. Fighters will be matched up according to height, weight, and experience levels and both men and women are encouraged to sign up to fight.

The doors will open at 6 p.m. and the matches begin at 8 p.m. Advance tickets are $30 for ringside, $15 for reserved floor seats or the mezzanine, $13 for reserved bleacher seats, and $10 for general admission. Tickets sold at the door will cost $2 more per section. All proceeds support the CSI Rodeo Team.

Advance tickets are available in advance at the Expo Center, Vickers Western Store in Twin Falls; The Shoe and Tack Shop in Jerome; and EZ Money Auto in Burley. For ticket information, contact the CSI Rodeo office at 732-6618, 732-6619, or 732-6620.

Please be advised that the Expo Center is not currently accessible to eastbound traffic on North College Road. Motorists coming from Washington Street will be diverted onto one of the CSI campus entrances. Vehicles on North College coming from Fillmore Street will be able to get to the Expo Center as will traffic from Falls Avenue as construction barricades on Frontier Road will be removed for that evening’s event.
