Idaho Man Battles Neighbors Over Christmas Lights
HAYDEN, Idaho (AP) — A Hayden man is battling neighbors over his plans for a big Christmas lights show.
Jeremy Morris says the West Hayden Estates Homeowners Association is threatening to sue him over his Christmas display. Morris is threatening to counter-sue. KREM-TV reports that members of Three Percent Idaho knocked on Morris' door Thursday and offered to guard his house. Three Percent Idaho is a constitutional advocacy group known for offering armed protection to causes it supports.
Morris says his show will feature hundreds of lights, a live camel, carolers and Santa Claus. He wants to operate the display the five days before Christmas, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Money raised goes to charity. The homeowners association contends the Christmas show violates numerous clauses, including noise levels, traffic, excessive brightness and nuisance.
