I state the obvious when I say that Yellowstone National Park is a beautiful place. But, even though my family visited earlier this year, we have never seen Yellowstone quite like this before. A photographer has just shared a truly amazing time lapse of the park that captures its haunting beauty.

From what I can tell, this was filmed as part of the Dark Sky Association. Here's part of the description from his Vimeo channel:

This video was filmed as part of SKYGLOW (skyglowproject.com), an ongoing crowdfunded quest to explore the effects and dangers of urban light pollution in contrast with some of the most incredible dark sky areas in North America. This project is being produced in collaboration with International Dark-Sky Association (darksky.org), a non-profit fighting for the preservation of night skies around the globe.

One of the things that I appreciate about his video is he recorded parts of the park that are not easily accessible by a regular person at that time of day (and night). You have to be very dedicated and more than likely have special permission to capture these images.

For more information on what the Dark Sky Association is all about, you can learn more from their official website.
