Remember when Apple Maps came out, and everyone complained that it was worse than Google Maps? There were reports of inaccuracies and roads that didn't exist? Well, Apple Maps may have just found the LOCH NESS MONSTER. Take that, Google!

There's a satellite shot of Loch Ness in Scotland on Apple Maps, and you can see a very big, mysterious shape in the water.

The shape appears to be about 100 feet long, and looks like it has flippers on the side.  Naturally, people immediately suspected it was the Loch Ness Monster. In fact, the Official Loch Ness Monster Fan Club says it's, quote, "likely" the Monster.

The skeptics say it just looks like the wake from a boat. And that's fine... but there's NO BOAT in the shot.

WHERE'S THE BOAT, HATERS? WHERE'S THE BOAT?

Seriously, it probably is a wake of some kind. You have to keep in mind that Apple Maps, just like Google, is comprised of sections of satellite photos that are cropped together. This is easily the wake from a boat and the boat itself was "cut" from the picture.

All in all, this is big news for the Loch Ness Monster. The president of the fan club announced in February that no one had reported a sighting for 18 months... that's the longest span without a Loch Ness Monster sighting since 1925.
