BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A 24-year-old Idaho man is facing second-degree murder charges after police say he beat a homeless man to death near a downtown Boise overpass. Police say Scotty Turnbull punched and stomped 37-year-old Russell "Rusty" Bitton to death in October near 16th Street in Boise. The Idaho Statesman newspaper reports that Turnbull could face up to life in prison if convicted.

Police say Turnbull also kicked and beat a woman in the head and punching another man in the face one day earlier. He faces charges of felony and misdemeanor battery and is being held on a $1 million bond.
