BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A grand jury has indicted a 22-year-old Idaho man on murder charges in the deaths of three people last month at a Boise home.

Adam Michael Dees of Nampa is charged with three counts of first degree murder, robbery and other crimes. Prosecutors say they believe Dees shot and bludgeoned 80-year-old Theodore Welp, his wife, 77-year-old Delores Welp, and their 52-year-old son, Tom Welp, on March 8 or 9.

Ada County Prosecutor Jan Bennetts has 60 days to decide whether to pursue the death penalty. Dees has been assigned a public defender, but The Associated Press could not immediately reach the attorney for comment. Dees has not yet had an opportunity to enter a plea or appear in court on the murder charges.
