Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) A Buhl man was sentenced this week to supervised probation after nearly strangulating his daughter.

Court records show Cory Jay Karlinsey, 32, squeezed his infant daughter to the point she stopped breathing. Karlinsey's wife told police that Cory had "gotten frustrated and squeezed the child."

Facing felony injury to a child, the judge ordered a withholding judgment upon a guilty plea to one felony count, suspending the sentence and ordering supervised probation. The maximum penalties include court costs, restitution, up to 10 years in prison and a $50,000 fine.
