TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) – The cases against two men charged with attempted kidnapping in the Burley were dismissed and refiled Tuesday.

On Tuesday, Vadian E. Dougal, 50, was charged with attempted kidnapping in the second degree; his enticement of a minor and battery charges were dismissed Tuesday. Dougal’s preliminary hearing is set for May 10 at 1:30 p.m. The second, Melvin D. Simpson, 40, was charged with two counts of attempted kidnapping in the second degree; his two counts of misdemeanor battery charges were dismissed Tuesday.  Simpson’s preliminary hearing set for May 9 at 1:30 p.m.,

According to court documents, the men allegedly offered young girls candy and/or money, or claimed to be girls’ uncle or grandfather to come with them on April 11, near White Pine Elementary School. A couple of girls were allegedly grabbed by the arm, but managed to escape. Police later located Dougal and Simpson and arrested them on April 11.
