TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – Twin Falls County Prosecuting Attorney Grant Loebs issued a statement Thursday morning regarding the alleged sexual assault of a 5-year-old girl that happened June 2 at the Fawnbrook apartments.

In his statement, Loebs said that while the “national alternative press continues to focus on Twin Falls and the recent case," it is important that his office provide occasional updates about "what is actually happening."

Local authorities continue to investigate the incident and is gathering new evidence, while existing evidence is being carefully reviewed and analyzed.

“Because this is an ongoing case, the nature and extent of the charges may be altered as this ongoing process continues,” he said in the news release. “Whatever the outcome of the investigation, the appropriate charges and sentences will be sought by this office according to Idaho law.”

Because juveniles are involved, the case has been sealed by a judge's order, preventing authorities from commenting much about the incident.

Loebs said in his statement Thursday that violations of no contact orders and/or harassment "by anyone of any witnesses," including the victim and her family who continue to be served by local Victim Services officials, “will be investigated and aggressively prosecuted.”

Loebs office remains in contact with the victim and her family. He said he will provide more information in the future as he is able.
