The Xbox One version of Crackdown will be a "mash-up" of single-player and co-op multiplayer, says the game's creative director.

Total Xbox reports that the next-gen version of Crackdown will blend together its single-player and online co-op experiences. Ever since its teaser trailer at E3, we've been wanting to hear more and more about Crackdown's war against the Los Muertos cartel. During this trailer, we got to see three agents working in unison to fight the drug kingpin.

"Crackdown was one of the first drop-in, drop-out co-op games, but we're going more towards 'there's just the game,'" said Ken Lobb, Creative Director of Microsoft Studios (and creator of Killer instinct). "You're playing the game, it's single, it's co-op, it's a mash-up, Choose at will in the game, instead of hiding behind menus and loads and lobbies. Just make the gameplay as if it's one big thing."

Unfortunately, Crackdown has yet to have any sort of launch window attached to it. Given the enjoyment we had with the original, we're keeping our fingers crossed this new Crackdown will be worth the wait.
