TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – Instead of watching “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” how about participating in the Great Pumpkin Race and Youth Challenge scheduled for Oct. 29 at the College of Southern Idaho?

This is the 11th year of the CSI Physical Education Department-sponsored 5K event, which is open to people of all ages. Afterward, the college has planned a carnival.

According to information from the college, the Youth Challenge consists of a timed one-mile race that begins at 9:30 a.m., while the race involves walking or running on both paved and fitness trail surfaces around the campus.

The race begins at 10 a.m., with registration for both events starting at 9 a.m. Or, for the race, you can register in advance by clicking here. Both events will stage in the Eldon Evans Expo Center parking lot. Prizes will be awarded in each age group.

Cost is $25 for adults and $10 for youth. The CSI Culinary Arts Department will provide free chili and corn bread to all participants and their families following the races. Afterward, student clubs will hold a free Halloween carnival from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the CSI Student Recreation Center.
