There's a lawsuit going on right now where injured players are saying that they were given pain killers to mask their injuries. So the DEA made a few surprise visits to traveling teams over the weekend.

I play fantasy football and when one of my players gets injured, my initial feeling is "come on dude, get back to work, I need to win this week!" Then I realize that these players are actual people and NOT robots.

According to ESPN:

A federal law enforcement official with knowledge of the investigation told "Outside the Lines" that the inspections were motivated by allegations raised in a May 2014 federal lawsuit, filed on behalf of several prominent NFL players, who allege that team physicians and trainers routinely gave them painkillers in an illegal manner to mask injuries and keep them on the field.

Three things:

  1. Doctors are doctors, they took an oath, stick to it!
  2. Just because football players make more money then me, does not make them any less human.
  3. Football players are adults, do the adult thing and don't play through an injury, take care of yourself.

Only time will tell what, if anything, was found during the inspection.
