TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – If you were successful in drawing a controlled hunt from the Idaho Department of Fish and Game, you have only until Aug. 1 to buy your tag.

“Every year we have people contact us after the deadline,” Administration Bureau Chief Michael Pearson said in a prepared statement. “Please call your hunting partners, family and friends to remind them to buy their controlled hunt tags so they can enjoy the benefits of drawing those tags.”

Controlled hunt tags – for black bear, deer, elk and pronghorn – not purchased by the deadline will be forfeited and made available in a second drawing on Aug. 20. The application period for this drawing is Aug. 5-15. Tags not drawn will go on sale on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 10 a.m. Aug. 25.
