TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) The Magic Valley Critical Incident Task Force is investigating a deputy involved shooting that happened Sunday night. According to the Twin Falls County Sheriff's Office, Filer Police initiated a traffic stop within the city at around 10:30 p.m. when the suspect, Dennis L. Barnes, 37, of Buhl, sped off.

When the chase entered county jurisdiction a deputy joined in. Eventually Barnes turned down a dead-end road, ran off the road and the chase ended. According to the county, before Barnes was arrested the deputy fired shots. No one was injured. Barnes was taken to a Boise hospital for injures he received when his car went off the road.

Barnes was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear on charges of grand theft. He will be facing new charges related to this incident. The unnamed deputy, per county policy, is on administrative leave during the CITF investigation.
