Bungie has decided to open the floodgates and let the Destiny beta be completely open to the public, regardless of console or pre-order status.

Announced on Bungie's website, the Guardians from all over will be arriving at the Tower in order to join in on Destiny, especially now that the pre-order restriction for beta access has been rescinded. Nothing says "stress test" like letting everyone be able to join. This means that anyone with an internet connection and a working PlayStation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360 or Xbox One can join in on Destiny's beta for free. For those without an Xbox Live gold or PlayStation Network subscription, don't worry. You can still play the beta, only Destiny's co-op Strike dungeon and Crucicle multiplayer will be restricted.

The servers have been open as of July 24, 2014 at 4:00 PM PDT. The beta will run until late Sunday night on July 27. Destiny itself will launch on Sept. 9 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
