Trestin Meacham of Utah went on a hunger strike Saturday according to the Examiner, in protest of the recent change that allowed LGBT couples to get married in Utah.

Then earlier today, the Wall Street Journal reports that the U.S. Supreme Court ordered a temporary stop on gay marriage when the state of Utah appealed the approval.  Hundreds of gay couples have married in Utah since December 20th.

So the incidents probably aren't directly related, granted, but was the man's hunger strike an influence on the Supreme Court's decision to overturn gay marriage?
