IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — Eastern Idaho law enforcement officials say a man was shot after he refused to cooperate with officers during a traffic stop.

Bonneville County Sheriff deputies were dispatched Monday morning to a call that a man had hit a pregnant woman and then left.

Deputies then located the man they suspected of hitting the woman in his vehicle in Bonneville County.

According to a news release, the man was uncooperative, and police used both a non-lethal device and firearms against him. The man was then taken to a hospital, where he was in stable condition Monday morning.

Officers did not release the man's name or say how many times he was shot.

Calls to Bonneville County Sheriff's Office from The Associated Press were not immediately returned Monday morning.
