JEROME, Idaho (KLIX) – Fire crews are still at the scene of a fire that started about 2:30 p.m. today near the Blue Lakes Country Club.

The Jerome Rural Fire Department is handling the blaze, according to a SIRCOMM dispatcher, but the department asked for assistance from the Twin Falls District of the Bureau of Land Management.

BLM spokeswoman Kelsey Brizendine said the agency has four engines at the site. It was unknown how many the Jerome department has on scene.

The fire has since been extinguished, but the dispatcher said structures had been threatened by the blaze earlier in the day. Crews were still on scene mopping up.
