BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Authorities say a woman is in critical condition after firefighters rescued her from a burning home in Meridian.

KTVB-TV reports that firefighters had responded to the home Monday night. They arrived to find the attic in flames with smoke filling the residence. Meridian Fire Chief Mark Niemeyer says firefighters found the woman inside, pulled her to safety and began administering aid.

Other crews worked to extinguish the blaze. Fire officials say the fire had burned for about 15 minutes before the woman was rescued. The fire has been ruled an accident, but investigators aren't sure how it started.
