Pocatello, Idaho (KLIX) – A juvenile black bear that has committed property damage in the Buckskin area east of Pocatello is still on the lam.

The Idaho Department of Fish and Game has set traps to catch the bear, but as of Friday morning the traps remained empty.

Fish and Game received a report from a resident in the Buckskin area that a “wild animal” had apparently entered the basement of her home through a window screen, according to a news release issued on Friday. Later, the homeowner said the bear had returned, this time scratching a hot tub cover. The department also learned that a week prior to these instances another homeowner observed a black bear on her property and damaged a basement window.

The bear so far has not shown any aggression toward humans, the department says, but Fish and Game is continuing its trapping efforts.
