FILER, Idaho (KLIX) - Just because it’s cold outside doesn’t mean you can’t drown a worm.

The Idaho Department of Fish and Game will tentatively stock 345 rainbow trout, 10 to 12 inches long, during the week of Jan. 25 at Filer Ponds. That’s on top of the 345 fish the department stocked at the same three ponds earlier this month.

Stocking is dependent on pond conditions.

“We aren’t able to accurately select the day because of all sorts of reasons,” said Doug Megargle, the department’s regional fisheries manager.

Filer Ponds offer children and their parents the opportunity to catch fish without the need of heavy tackle or gear. The smaller pond is for children 12 years and younger, while the two larger ponds are for anglers of all ages. Each fishery has easy shoreline access.

The ponds are located at 4350 N. 2300 E., Filer.
