MOUNTAIN HOME, Idaho (KLIX) – Another Idaho community has issued a declaration of emergency due to flooding problems.

Elmore County commissioners met Friday morning to declare the county in a state of emergency because of “melting snow and rain storms” that, according to officials there, “have currently created, and may in the future create more, flooding, mudslides and/or avalanches, as well as a large amount of infrastructure damage in Elmore County.”

On Thursday, Twin Falls County issued a state of emergency because of many areas of flooding, including impassable roads due to high water.

Elmore County’s statement to its residents: “Elmore County residents need to understand the severity of this weather. This was not a normal winter like we're all used to dealing with. This situation is more severe and an abundance of caution is required of us all.”
