The flu is something employers, parents, school teachers and basically everyone fears. Nobody wants to call in sick, or spend the day on the bathroom floor. But it happens...sometimes to often.

Currently there is an influenza virus spreading across the Magic Valley. Magic Valley residents have reported getting the virus even if they've had a flu shot. This isn't your typical 24 hour flu.

This virus comes on suddenly with a high fever, body aches, stomach pain, heavy breathing, vomiting, severe headache, sore throat, fatigue and runny nose.

The virus can last over a week in adults and 3 to 4 days in children. You are urged to stay home if you become sick. The virus can spread through cough, sneeze or talk. The CDC reports that most healthy adults are contagious beginning 1 day before symptoms develop and up to 5 to 7 days after becoming sick.

As always consult your physician for exact details as the flu effects everyone differently.
