SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Authorities say four people have died and three are hospitalized after a boat capsized at a northern Utah lake near the Idaho border.

Rich County Sheriff Dale Stacey said Tuesday morning a man on the boat died Monday at Bear Lake and three children pulled from the water were taken to a Salt Lake City hospital, where they later died.

Stacey says that two other children and a woman remained hospitalized.

Authorities did not release identities of those involved but say they were from Weber County.

It wasn't immediately clear what had caused the boat to capsize but the sheriff's office says there were high winds Monday afternoon on the lake about 120 miles north of Salt Lake City.

Stacey says all seven aboard wore life jackets and the water was about 53 degrees Fahrenheit.
