Be ready to revisit the Land of the Dead this January with Grim Fandango Remastered. Also, Maniac Mansion II: Day of the Tentacle is making a comeback.

Double Fine Productions revealed a new trailer for Grim Fandango Remastered during the PlayStation Experience convention in Las Vegas today. This remastered version of the 1998 LucasArts classic has all sorts of improvements to it. Tim Schafer was able to regain the rights to the Grim Fandango IP with a little financial help from Sony, and then started planning out the remastering process with his team at Double Fine Productions, the studio he founded. This updated version will feature a fully orchestrated soundtrack, improved visuals across the board and changes done to the UI to make it friendlier to PS Vita and PS4 users.

Schafer also said on the PlayStation Blog that we will be seeing a re-release of his hit adventure game, Day of the Tentacle, as well. Stay tuned and we'll provide more information on that as its released.

Grim Fandango Remastered will launch this January for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita (Jan. 27 according to scuttlebutt).
