I enjoyed this video more than I should have. There's a guy who decided to take his fancy new drone out and get some video of nearby cliffs. That didn't end well for him.

I appreciate this guy's sense of humor. He titled this one "Succor Creek at Sunset and HOW NOT TO FLY A DRONE". He's right. Check this out.

Here's his description of what happened (the bold letters are part of what makes this entertaining):

This was shot with my GoPro Karma and GoPro Hero 5 at Succor Creek in Idaho. You will see at the end of the video that my drone loss connection and started to come back to where I was BUT there were 200 foot high rocks and it clipped one and went down and COMPLETELY DESTROYED MY KARMA.

He's not completely wrong. As you can see on the map, there is a part of Succor Creek that is in Idaho, just not the part he was flying in (the one with the big rocks). His drone hits the cliff at around the 2:30 mark. Maybe the hard impact threw off his GPS a little bit.

There are multiple moments of good news here. First, he got some really stellar footage of the Oregon part of Succor Creek before his drone bit the dust. Second, his GoPro didn't die in the fall.

If nothing else, we all got to see some pretty (Oregon) rocks and now know how not to fly a drone.
