TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) Southern Idaho health officials have lifted the health advisory issued during the summer for two reservoirs that had high levels of toxic algae. The South Central Public Health District along with the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality says the health advisories for Mormon Reservoir and Thorn Creek Reservoir, both northeast of Gooding, have been lifted. Health officials say the toxic blue-green algae had been found at the two reservoirs during the summer that posed serious health risks to people and pets. The health organizations remind people to be cautious around the reservoirs in areas where algal blooms are still visible with slime, surface scum, or bad odors.
