This isn't a joke or a some kind of twisted fan fiction -- the next Silent Hill game is being made by both Hideo Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro, will run on the Fox Engine and stars Norman Reedus as its main character.

Polygon reports that the mysterious horror game for PlayStation 4, P.T., which just hit the market today, is actually the first interactive teaser for a new collaborative project by the Metal Gear series' creator/director, Hideo Kojima, and the legendary, supernatural playwright and director, Guillermo Del Toro. Del Toro is known for writing and directing such films as 'Hellboy 2', 'Pan's Labyrinth', 'Pacific Rim' and for writing and producing 'The Strain' on FX.

If you skip ahead to 1:16:00 Soapywarpig's Twitch footage of P.T.'s playthrough (provided below, warning contains language NSFW), you will see that it is actually the "Playable Teaser" for Silent Hills, the latest entry of the Silent Hill franchise. On top of this, Norman Reedus, known for his roles on 'The Walking Dead' and 'The Boondock Saints,' is starring as the main character. It is also using Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain's Fox Engine as its graphical engine.

That's right, we just said that Hideo Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro are making the next Silent Hill game and it's starring Daryl Dixon as its main character -- that is how you reboot a declining survival horror franchise (Resident Evil, we're looking at you).

Leave it to Hideo Kojima to make the first teaser of his take on Silent Hill to be hidden inside a playable teaser trailer. We suggest you download P.T. on the PSN now and try out this creepy, interactive teaser yourself. Surprising enough, P.T. was released by 7780s Studio, an unknown developer.

Does this mean that Silent Hills will only be PlayStation 4-exclusive? Stay tuned as we provide up-to-date coverage on Silent Hills once more information is available.
