Home Total Loss in Gooding, Displaces Family

GOODING, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) - A fire that started on the outside of a Gooding County home ended with a total loss and displacing a family of five. Gooding Fire Chief Brandon Covey said it appears that the fire was the result of a small child playing with fire outside the home.

The manufactured home was located near the 2100 East block and 1300 South. The blaze quickly spread up the side of the double-wide manufactured home before passing through the attic and engulfing the residence, resulting in a total loss.

In addition to the Gooding Fire Department, the Wendell and Shoshone fire departments responded as well.
