Yesterday, I heard a Twin Falls fitness expert say that men need to drink 1 gallon of water every day! That's 128 ounces! This can't be accurate, right?

The trainer also suggested that women needed close to 100 ounces of water. That's a lot of water!

Do you really need this much water? According to WebMD, the amount of water you need depends on a few things: your weight, size and level of activity. The general consensus is that you need to drink between half an once and an once for every pound you weigh. So, if you weigh 180 pounds, you will need to drink about 135 ounce of water. If you are extremely active, or live in a warm climate you will need even more water!

This means our Twin Falls fitness expert is correct.

The good news is, all of this water could help you lose weight. Water is part of everything your body does. If your body has an efficient amount of water, your body runs more smoothly. This includes your metabolism.
