What a year! All my kids are in school now...kind of makes me feel old. As the kids grow up they start doing things that they couldn't do when they were younger - like doing the shopping.

My son is 10 and my daughter is 8 and last week I sent them into the store to buy spaghetti sauce so I could stay in the car (at least it wasn't a hot car) and make some phone calls. The best part is they were super excited to be helping in such a grown up way!

But - as they were coming out and I looked at my 'grown up babies' walking out of the store I wondered if I had done the right thing. Are they even old enough to do that? They did get the right sauce and they remembered to get the change so I think they are OK. But were there parents in the store judging these kids and their parents for letting them shop alone?
