IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) €” Officials in the southeastern Idaho city of Idaho Falls are making plans to celebrate its beginning 150 years ago.

History buff Paul Menser tells the Post Register (http://www.postregister.com/node/70916) that a toll bridge at Black Rock Canyon that opened in 1865 is considered the city's first sign of settlement.

Menser heads the planning committee for this year's celebration and says possible events include the burying of a time capsule.

He also says the celebration could be tied into existing events such as a Fourth of July parade and the Idaho Falls Symphony's September concert.
