Police in southeast Idaho are investigating an incident that involved a 33-year-old man who allegedly was driving with drugs in his system with three children inside, and then hit a second vehicle. It's also being reported that he then stole a car at the scene, drove the kids to an unknown residence, and then left them.

The Bonneville County Sheriff's Office are working the case of a February 16 automobile crash that involved an area man by the name of Quinton Wade Minor. Minor is alleged to have drove off in a bystander's Chevy after the individual allowed him and three kids he was traveling with to wait inside for police, according to information shared by eastidahonews.com.

Shortly after leaving the scene in the witness's automobile, Minor allegedly dropped the young passengers off in front of a stranger's home, only to return for them later. An observer is said to have tipped police to the location of Minor and the three children. It's also being reported that the man attempted to take an officer's gun after being confronted.

The injuries to the kids as a result of the accident have been described as minor. Minor also allegedly told police he was using methamphetamine. He was booked into the Bonneville County Jail on charges of grand theft, possessing stolen credit cards, leaving the scene of an accident, attempting to remove a firearm from an officer, resisting arrest and injury to a child.

The kids were picked up safely by the mother on the day of the incident.
