BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A southwest Idaho man accused of offering money for the murder of his ex-girlfriend has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of solicitation to commit aggravated battery.

Twenty-one-year-old Kenneth Andrew O'Brien of Nampa pleaded guilty Thursday in 3rd District Court.

O'Brien was arrested in September and charged with soliciting murder after a witness told police that O'Brien offered an unknown amount of money and the use of his 9mm handgun to commit the act.

O'Brien is scheduled to be sentenced March 17. He faces up to five years in prison.
