POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) — Idaho State Police say a northbound Union Pacific freight train hit an SUV at a Pocatello rail crossing but the vehicle's driver was unhurt.

Police say the intersection was blocked for several hours after the collision at about 5:30 p.m. Friday. In a statement, police say the driver, 23-year-old Chase Fernandez of Pocatello, failed to yield to the train, which hit the rear passenger side of his 1993 Chevrolet Blazer.
