BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A 32-year-old southwest Idaho woman has pleaded guilty to trying to hire someone to kill her husband.

The U.S. Attorney's Office in Boise says Monique Christine Martinez of Nampa pleaded guilty Tuesday in federal court to one count of use of interstate commerce facilities in the commission of murder-for-hire.

Prosecutors say Martinez used Facebook to contact a person in California in order to hire someone to kill her husband.

Court documents say that on Oct. 17 Martinez met with a person she thought was a hit man but instead was an undercover agent.

Prosecutors say Martinez gave the agent $350 to kill her husband, promised more, and provided details on the best location for the killing.

Martinez faces up to 10 years in prison at her Aug. 5 sentencing.
