Funny things can happen when you Google things. I'll give you an example. I was about to Google something when Google tried to complete my phrase before I typed it. I was asking "Why do Idahoans..." when Google took over and this is what auto-complete put in.

Yes, you read that right. The most common phrase (apparently) when the words "Why do Idahoans" is entered ends with "hate Californians". The results are both troubling and hysterical.

You get a 2009 Topix article "Do some Idahoans really hate Californians and outsiders?" One of the commenters said they don't dislike outsiders, but do hate Californians because "they lack common sense".

Another one that comes up in that search is a blog called "Ten Things That Idahoans Want Outsiders To Understand". #9 on that list claims that Idahoans don't hate Californians, but then goes on to say that they hate when Californians try to make Idaho into California.  Hmm.

The most damning of all of them is a Washington Post story that dates back to 1979 (aka "The Stone Age") which claims "To Most Idahoans, A Plague Of Locusts Is Californians". Ouchie.

I've been called a lot of things in my life, but haven't been compared to a Biblical plague - YET.

Here's the deal, though. I DON'T hate Californians. But, then again, I lived in Monterey back in 1992/93. That means I AM ONE OF THEM. (*shudder*)
