Andy Rehfeldt has done it again, folks! The YouTube sensation is famous for having turned metal songs like Cannibal Corpse's "Hammer Smashed Face" and Slipknot's "Wait and Bleed" into popular Radio Disney-styled versions and lately he's been taking some of rock and metal's classics and adapting them to completely outside genres. This time he's taken Iron Maiden's "The Number of the Beast" and took it in a bossa nova direction and it sounds, well, kind of cool!

Bossa nova was developed in Brazil in the 1950s, combining jazz and samba and it typically features classical acoustic guitars with nylon strings. The highly-danceable music meets one of metal's most blazing tracks in this reimagining of "The Number of the Beast," retaining Bruce Dickinson's original vocal recordings. The juxtaposition of the singer's gritty, dominant wail against the upbeat, cheery guitar work is a bit comical, especially with the delicate "six-six!" backing vocals over the chorus, but remarkably well done.

As Rehfeldt has demonstrated in the past, this version of the Maiden hit shows the fluidity of music and how easily it can translate across a variety of styles. It's fascinating to imagine a world out there where a band like Iron Maiden can be exposed to those who object to heavy metal or more aggressive styles of music. If you have some friends and family members who can't stand metal, show them this and see what they say.

Iron Maiden have completed their world tour in support of The Book of Souls, but things are as busy as ever in the Maiden camp. Dickinson will be releasing his long-awaited autobiography, What Does This Button Do?this month and will make a select set of appearances on a U.S. book tour. The band will be issuing another addition to their line of Trooper beers, 'Hallowed,' this month as well and have a comic book based on their mobile video game, The Legacy of the Beast, arriving Oct. 11. As if that wasn't enough, Maiden will also release the live album/concert film, The Book of Souls: Live Chapter on Nov. 17.
