CALDWELL, Idaho (KTVB) - New information was released Tuesday about an investigation into Canyon County Sheriff Kieran Donahue.

Idaho State Police has accepted a request from the Canyon County Prosecutor's Office to investigate a complaint against the sheriff because of a conflict of interest. The complaint alleges Donahue misused his official position to promote his private nonprofit the K. Donahue Foundation.

The Idaho Attorney General's Office completed a preliminary investigation. But the AG's Office and the Canyon County Prosecutor's Office have cited a conflict of interest. ISP will give the results of its investigation to the Twin Falls County prosecutor, who will act as a special prosecutor.
