JEROME, Id ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) The Jerome County Sheriff's Office is expanding its reach for emergency communications.

Due to an old failing tower and high rent from the state, the sheriff's office made the decision to build a new one. The new tower located near the Jerome butte will serve as the disaster services and public safety, as well as all of the counties radio communications with more coverage.

"This is going to be an integral part of the new sheriff's office and jail that we are putting in and should serve the citizens for many years to come,” said Jerome County Sheriff Doug McFall. The county will also be looking into renting out space on the tower to public entities to help pay for sustainability.
