Jerome Designates Park for Veteran Memorials

JEROME, Id. (KMVT-KSVT) An old park in Jerome officially has a new name. The Jerome City Council renamed South Park to 'Veteran's Memorial Park' at Tuesday night’s meeting. South Park has been traditionally the park which displays foreign war memorials. The park has a World War 2 and Desert Storm memorial.

The plan is to move the Vietnam War memorial from North Park to the south. A local group is even working to get an Iraq and Afghanistan War memorial at the park. That's why city officials felt renaming South Park to Veteran's Memorial Park was the best fit.
