The Idaho State Police issued the following information:

On Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at approximately 5:40 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle, injury crash eastbound I-84 at milepost 13, in Payette County.

Gilbert Ferreira, 33, of Jerome, was merging onto I-84 from the Black Canyon Road onramp in a 2006 Ford F-350 pickup.  Delbert Green, 83, of New Plymouth, was behind Ferreira in a 1997 Ford F-250 pickup.  Ferreira slowed to merge into traffic, and was struck from behind by Green's Ford F-250. Green was not wearing his seatbelt, and was transported to West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell by ground ambulance.  Ferreira was wearing his seatbelt.  He was transported to St. Luke's in Fruitland by ground ambulance. The right lane was blocked for approximately two hours while crews worked to clear the scene.  The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
