A Jerome teenager could spend time in prison for shooting his brother.  Jerome police were called to a residence in early May after reports of a shooting.  18 year old Zachary Sparks said his brother Harry was screaming at his mother.  When Zachary told his brother to stop yelling at his mother Harry Sparks then pushed Zachary up against the wall.  Zachary then  retrieved a shotgun from another room and allegedly pointed it at Harry.  Zachary told police he thought the gun was on safety but it discharged and hit Harry in the hand and leg.  Zachary now faces a charge of felony aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.  A preliminary hearing is set for tomorrow.  The maximum penalty for that charge is 30 years in prison.
