Ketchum Officials Eye Home Mail Delivery

KETCHUM, Idaho (AP) — Leaders in the central Idaho city of Ketchum say they're interested in having the U.S. Postal Service deliver mail to homes and businesses rather than residents continuing to pick up mail at the post office.

The Idaho Mountain Express reports that the Ketchum City Council at a meeting voiced support for looking into the possible change. Resident Amanda Breen told councilors that people have to resend important documents after first sending them to her physical address.

Ketchum Postmaster John McDonald says home delivery would require putting in mailboxes in the city's right of way. He also says there would be considerable additional costs to the Postal Service due to the need for more employees and delivery vehicles.
