TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – Twin Falls police took a man into custody this afternoon after he attempted to access a St. Luke's helicopter.

At a little before 2 p.m. a patient of St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center was seen running to the facility’s helicopter. The man jumped a fence and made it onto the helipad, said city spokesman Joshua Palmer, but hospital security prevented him from reaching the aircraft.

The man then ran around the parking lot before police officers initiated a Taser to subdue the suspect. Afterward, they placed him in custody and brought him back into the hospital for treatment of previous injuries.

Police believe the man may have been under the influence of a controlled substance, Palmer said.

The incident still under investigation.
