Man Arrested after Violent Rape in Boise
BOISE, Idaho (KTVB) -- A Nampa man is in the Canyon County Jail after police say he violently sexually assaulted a girl. Police say 20-year-old Mehmed Halilovic befriended the girl on a social media site before suggesting they meet in person.
The victim told police Halilovic raped and beat her at a Boise motel shortly after they met up. The girl, who is under the age of 16, is receiving medical treatment for her injuries. The assault was reported to police in late October, and Halilovic was arrested outside his Nampa home Monday. Detectives believe due to the brutality of the attack and Halilovic's online interactions with the girl that he may have more victims.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Boise Police. Halilovic has been charged with lewd conduct wth a minor, and is awaiting extradition to Ada County. His immigration status is also under investigation.
