Minidoka County, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - A man has plead guilty to felony possession of stolen property in a Minidoka County Courtroom this Monday Morning. According to court reports, Michael Jay Smith made the plea after being charged with taking 300 feet of copper wire from a potato storage facility in Southwest Minidoka County. According to a document filed with the courts, the theft occurred the night of October 6, 2014.

In the court document it’s alleged that Smith paid another person $20 to take the wire to a nearby recycling location.

On October 15, Smith was arrested on the felony charge. He is to be sentenced on March 9, 2015 at 9 a.m.
