BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A man has been hospitalized after an officer-involved shooting in Boise.

Police say the incident started as a traffic stop Monday night. When police tried to pull a vehicle over in the Boise Bench neighborhood, one person fled the car and an officer followed, shooting the man.

Boise Police Deputy Chief Eugene Smith said the shooting victim was taken by ambulance to a hospital. His condition has not been released.

The Critical Incident Task Force and Idaho State Police have been called to investigate the shooting.
